My name is Brandon Correia, I was born and raised in San Francisco California and I have always had a passion for the arts. Beginning my journey with animation in the 7th grade, I now study graphic design at the University of Tennessee. I am a designer who blends strong typography and high-contrast colors to create engaging visual stories.
I went through high school with a strong ambition to be an engineer like my father. When I enrolled in engineering classes in high school, I realized that while I was passionate about problem-solving, engineering wasn’t my calling. When applying for college, I made the decision to follow what I love and applied for a graphic design degree. Eventually, I decided to move across the country to the University of Tennessee to study graphic design. Since then, I’ve thrown myself into my studies with the ambition to build great design.
I often find myself inspired by design that merges creativity and function at the highest level. Furniture and wayfinding design are two examples of functional design that I notice most in the real world. I am also greatly inspired by the design, branding, and campaigns that music artists use to translate their musical sound into visual design.
I have aspirations of using my creativity on a larger scale. I hope to one day become a creative director and lead the creative vision of designers. I’m interested in the idea of bringing many people together to apply their creativity toward a common goal and operate on the same level of thinking. I hope to gain experience practicing design in the real world post-graduation while working toward a graduate degree in business administration. With knowledge of both design and business, I believe I will be able to reach my goal and use my greatest skill—creativity—to lead and accomplish meaningful objectives.
